Get PAID For Your Records

question-mark-3.png

Why sell to us?
Save yourself time and energy and get cash quickly

Yes you could spend the time selling your own records and maybe even get a  better price. But for how long will you be waiting?

We're in it for the long run and don't mind holding onto and sharing your records with the masses. Yes we aim to profit from them, but this is to provide you and others with the easy sales service. It can be hard to sell records, but we do this day in day out, a challenge is what drives us forward and digging down.

Step One
Send us photos of your records

Send clear, bright and high resolution photos to: dig.down.records@gmail.com A smart phone camera is perfect. They should include the catalogue numbers usually found on the corners or edges of the sleeves and disc labels - they're a combination of two or three numbers and letters.

We may ask for more photos showing the condition of the records themselves, but don't worry about this just yet.

Step Two
Get a quote and reference number

Once we have established what you are selling us, we will send you a quote for your vinyl along with a reference number (make sure you check your junk folder). To improve your quote, it is best to send us a larger amount of vinyl photos, this way we can buy in bulk and you can get a larger sum paid to you.

The margins on records are low and we need to operate as a business in order to offer this service. This is why our quotes are final and based on figures to keep the service viable - we will not reply to haggling emails - our mission is to save you time and energy.

Step Three
Agree to the quote and send us an invoice

Once you have accepted our quote, we will send you a link to set up an PayPal goods and services invoice. You just need to enter the amount from our quote along with the reference number.

Simply create and send the invoice. Be sure to enter any details correctly to prevent any delay. We will then proceed to setting up postage for you.

Step Four
Send your records to us

Once we receive the your invoice we will set up delivery for you. There is no need to print anything as we will send you a QR code for the relevant delivery service. See how to prepare your records in the step below - we can also provide you with mailers to send us your records.

Which delivery service is used depends on the value of the quote we sent you. For smaller packages or quotes, we use InPost, an extremely convenient service using a series of lockers which also delivers to home addresses. For anything larger or with a higher quote, we use Royal Mail Tracked 48. You would just need to present your QR code at the post office for them to print your postage label. Be sure to keep your receipt when dropping off your parcel.

Step Five
Get paid

Provided that your records do not skip or repeat like, well, a broken record, we will fulfil the invoice you sent to us and pay you!

We understand that accidents can happen in transit but we can't accept broken or unplayable records. If we find any like this we will simply return them to you free of charge. If we are able to accept some of your records but not others, we will be in touch with a new quote.

How to package your records
Get them to us safe and most importantly, sound

Please refer to our best packaging practices PAGE for the best guidance on how to package your records before sending them to us.

It's very important to follow our guidance on packaging as this part of the selling process is out of our control however, we can provide the information and materials you need to get your records to us safe and sound.

Using stiff, purpose made cardboard record mailers is a must. These vary in quality and the amount of records they can hold. We can provide good quality mailers along with other materials cheaply and individually without you having to buy in bulk HERE

We find this VIDEO to be a perfect example for a smaller amount of records (up to four), packaging like this should ensure the records fit snugly and don't rattle around inside the parcel.

Sales service is for UK customers only
We solely buy records from within the UK

Due to the macro economic environment, importing records from abroad for resale, or even just to share with you on our socials, is currently not a viable option for us.

We hope to change this as things grow but for now we will continue to focus on UK purchasing while broadening our resale market. This will hopefully lead to a more international version of our sales service in the future.
